Thor Vol 2 Who Holds the Hammer? Thor Marvel Now! Jason Aaron CM Punk Noelle Stevenson Don Glut Russell Dauterman Rob Guillory Marguerite Sauvage Rick Hoberg Books Reviews
- It's nice to see comics mix it up a bit, and not have the same old stories again and again. I'm really liking Jane Foster/Thor, and can't wait to read more.
The What If comic where Jane gets Thor's hammer was pretty good, but felt very dated. The way the characters acted reminded me of over the top melodramatic soap operas, dwelling on who loves who.
Overall this collection of comics was a fun read and I look forward to what's next. - Lady Thor is amazing, and a much needed refreshing of the character. If you like Thor Odinson, fear not he's not being replaced, just a new weilder of the hammer.
- Thor Who Holds the Hammer? Is a great reveal to show who is now Thor.
The What If? From the 70's is ridiculous and made me drop a star from my rating. - Artwork is great, storyline is great!
- Great story. Great pacing. Love where this goes.
- Great
- I for got that I have this. excellent
- So, the reveal of the Lady Thor is made. I won't ruin the surprise of who Thor is, rather just review the volume. I have enjoyed the newest Thor story more than I anticipated. Showing the Thor I know and love Knocked down/showing signs of regret has been done well. I also appreciate how this story has continued the story elements from Thor God of Thunder, but found a way to feel new and fresh. The final reveal of who Thor is was not particularly surprising, given the limited number of suspects, but I'm sure will make for some interesting story elements down the road. Now, as to the collection itself, truthfully, this volume could easily have been put in the first volume without much difference. Included in this are 3 issues of the regular series, 1 annual (which has little to do with the actual Thor series), and a What If? issue from the 70s. Putting the collections together would have made more thematic sense given the story continues directly from issue 5, and there wasn't much reason to separate it out. The annual included is nice, but feels like filler. The What If? is directly relevant to who the new Thor is (Again I don't want to spoil it), which was What If this new person became thor. It was a surprisingly good read, though I thought it was funny that said person did not go by Thor, but another name (Which was a complaint many had of this new female thor).
Overall, very good read, but felt short. Luckily, the price hear is pretty cheap and you get a digital copy. If you liked Volume 1, you'll be happy.
