Histoires à lire le soir 2 French Edition Marc Thil Books Reviews

  • The various books by Marc Thill are designed for French students from 8-12 but are also quite useful for foreign students and practically all anyone who knows French beyond absolute beginner level.Though I know French quite well and can handle Maigret mysteries as well as other adult books, I find these useful for reinforcing spoken patters and everyday language.
Unless one lives in a francophone territory and uses the language every day, it is always necessary to keep reinforcing that which is already learned but not always remembered correctly when the mouth is set into motion.
Of course if the material is boring or stupid, then all is for naught. Thil's stories are quite readable, IMO.
  • Paired with two French-learning apps and my French textbook, I think I have the next three semesters of French in the bag! I bought this and many other French books to go along with my coursework. The stories are easy to understand and not as difficult as an "adult" French book for beginners. A good way to get the pronunciation and "flow" of the language without repeating, "Je suis un americain" a hundred times (so boring!).
  • Great stories for kids who are learning french or even for an adult who is learningh that language as a second language, it is easy to understand, funny and entertained stories, at a fair price, your kid or inner kid will appreciate it.
  • This is a great book for an intermediate French student. It isn't difficult, but it does use a lot of idioms. This didn't bother me because I want to learn French as it's really spoken. But it might be hard going for a beginner. The stories are short and fun to read. Many of them are incidents, not really stories with a plot.
  • Very easy to read. If you're trying to learn French and are in a basic level, this is perfect. Also, the stories are interesting and they all carry some moral message.
  • Good stories for learning and practicing your French. Since they are for children, they also serve for an beginning - intermediate student to practice and improve their French.
  • Nice little French stories, mostly in the present tense. I am fluent in conversational French, but these very short and cute stories did provide aN opportunity to pick up some new vocabulary and exposure to some different ways of self expression.
  • bonnes histoires du soir, et de bonne longueur pour mon garcon de 5 ans
