• A tremendous analysis of what robs us of our inner peace, and what on earth we can do about it. A passage from this book best explains it "That at which we should aim is, then, not principally to impose a lot of things on ourselves, as good as they may seem with our own intelligence, according to our projects, etc. Rather, we must try to discover the disposition of our soul, the profound attitude of our heart, and the spiritual conditions that permit God to act in us."
  
  This book goes a long way in guiding that very process of discovery.
  
  Again to paraphrase Fr. Philippe, we often fight the wrong battle. The main goal of the spiritual battle is often to defend our peace of heart against the enemy who is trying to steal it. But we often are distracted, looking in another direction, struggling on the wrong terrain.
  
  This book is full of practical, simple, and unexpected insights on how to fight the right spiritual battle.
• Amazing work. It seems fitting that a book in this topic ought not be several hundred pages of dense theology. I read the version and the best I can tell is that a book of this length should be able to be read in a single sitting... Not so! It is a book that is short in length, but takes time to read, reflect, ponder. It was the book that I needed to read right now. But isn't that how the Holy Spirit frequently works? Amazing.
• I'm sure that anger management would still be fruitful, but key points that Philippe makes help to be conscious of what happens that cause us to lose peace, and what we must do to maintain it. It's very short and concise, so I won't spoil it. This little book was written and reads as smoothly as a lullaby (not that it was boring and made me sleepy. Rather, it was soothing to the spirit).
• Love Fr. Philippe. Had the opportunity to go on retreat with him two years ago and am going again this November. This little pink book is all you need to live in peace regardless of your life circumstances. I love all his books and one could re-read them numerous times and get new insights every time. My whole book is highlighted LOL because every line is THAT good. I have given this book to many friends and they agree it provides such practical ways to deal with the sufferings that come along to each of us throughout life.
• Just buy it Seriously. It is thoroughly orthodox, straight to the point, and quite profound for its being so brief. It has made my top reads list, and that is saying something! The words and exhortations will assist you greatly in dealing with any stresses, worries, or anxieties. This little book is a big gem.
• This is such a fantastic little book. I am not much of a reader, but this guy has been read by me about 4 times already. My husband credits this book with helping him realize he and I were supposed to be married ) HA! Seriously, though, it is small, not overly theological, and gives really practical help for cutting through the mess of this life to find the peace God wants for us all.
• This book unlocked so many passages and teachings I’ve heard my whole life. It just made things make sense. My eyes have been opened to a fresh, new and redeeming perspective on life and how to have the balance and fullness I’ve been searching for. This book was recommended to me by a doctor who wanted to help me manage a paralyzing phobia. I never thought I could be grateful for a thing as awful as a phobia, but I find myself grateful because if not for the phobia, he would not have recommended this book. My life will forever be changed for the better. I’m excited to share what I learn and hopefully help change the lives of others in return.
• This is, without question, one of the best spiritual guides that I have ever read. What makes it so appealing is the conciseness of the book, the ease of reading and the application to anyone of any age or state in life (single, married, religious, old, young, etc...) Fr. Philippe's writing is beautiful, simple yet profound, humble and timeless. It has helped me place my struggles in perspective with the spiritual battle that goes on around us all day everyday. Would highly recommend!!! It makes a wonderful gift to family or friends of any faith background -- I have given it out to Catholics and non-Catholics.
